Election of Society Committee
In the months leading up to this AGM, all SDWS members had been informed that all the
committee positions were available and that applications for them were most welcome. In
the event, there were very few offers! Fortunately most of the committee members were
happy to remain and as no new contestants come forward they were reinstated for another
year. The three exceptions were SECRETARY, PROGRAMME SECRETARY and CONTEST
MANAGER.
In the weeks prior to this AGM, Krystyna Hayward, G5YL, offered to take on both
the Secretary and Programme Secretary positions, while Peter Day, G3PHO, offered his
services as Contest Manager on the retirement of Dave Shaw, M5DWI. Unfortunately G5YL was
not present at this AGM so the members attending were not able to formally approve her
election. She has since confirmed her willingness to take on these two positions but special
arrangements will have to be made to collect the club room keys at a time when she wil be
at work.
Since G3PHO has now moved up to Contest Manager, his position as an Ordinary Committee
member has become vacant and is now filled by one of three founder members, Andy Burton
G3ASB (formerly M0GAV) who had expressed a desire to rejoin the committee after a few
years absence due to domestic circumstances.
In the absence of competing candidates, no voting was required of members so the following
committee was approved
