* Practical Evening Practical Evening

Time: 7:30 pm

This will be held at the Rutland Hotel, Broomhill, Sheffield. Demonstration of test equipment followed by testing members\' equipment for faults and performance. We\'ll have a spectrum analyzer (to 1.5GHz) available plus an oscilloscope, test meters, power meters, etc, and the expertise of several techie members!

Time: 3:00 pm

The VHF contest of the year! We\'ll be on as G5TO/P from our Wharncliffe Chase site in IO93FL. Come up and see us and/or come on the air to give us some contest points. We\'ll be activity on 6m, 4m, 2m and 70cm ssb and cw. Please note that, if you work us from your own station you won\'t be able to operate G5TO as well, since the NFD rules prevent this.

Time: 7:00 pm

This enjoyable direction finding exercise will take place on the Ponderosa, Crookesmoor, just a short walk from the University Arms. The aim is to find a tiny hidden transmitter built by David, G8EQD Meet at the University Arm between 7 and 7.30pm for instructions. You need at the minimum a VHF/UHF handheld receiver and a small antenna. After the hunt we\'ll all meet back a the University Arms for a certificate presentation and a pint.

One of our evenings at a local restaurant. This time is the Admiral Rodney on Loxley Road, a short distance up from Malin Bridge. The number of places is limited to 20 so book early!
